Nina by Nina Ricci - A fragrance for one who loves the sweetest of things

Nina by Nina Ricci is a yummy, fresh fragrance, concentrated in apple scents. It combines very sweet blends of all the types of apples you can imagine!
Think all the kinds of green and red apples and add a hint of sweet candy-like scent...

On application, the top notes feel overpowering but immediately these sink to its natural light notes and cling on for many hours, making the need for top ups less frequent or not needed at all.

This is one fragrance that will generally be likeable by all women - particularly those who favour sweet scented scents.

I like this perfume because it suits any occasion, any mood and any age...And it avoids all the floral scents (which I'm not a huge fan of).
It almost seems to play with your olfactory senses throughout the day, which can bring one's mood up a notch =P

The mini bottle is handy for top ups. You cannot spray it on but you're able to rub it between your wrists and apply it wherever you want. One small blob of the lotion's scent lasts the entire day.

Mini Primark Haul

Primark can be a great place for shopping if you're hunting for basics.
I have to admit, I seldom find anything nice in Primark as I am fussy with quality and design. However, today I decided to venture in and here are my finds.... (hopefully they will convince you to shop there too!)

Tips for shopping at Primark:
- Check the stitching of the clothes, bags etc...
- Check all buttons are secure.
- Look for any wear or tear.
- Sizes vary greatly, so fit the clothes you buy unless you have a good sense of judgement (which I thankfully do =P)
- Avoid buying shoes there. This is my advice from numerous reviews I've heard of Primark's shoes, including the heel of the shoe snapping...

A blue-green & grey long sleeved basic shirt (£3)

Simple long sleeved shirts can be hard to find in the high street. So here's one with a cool design - I'm liking the combination of the two colours...

A vintage style sweater (£5, was £10)

I admire vintage designs. They're so feminine and pretty! So I had to get this!

Check out the puffy shoulder design =P

Another brown basic long sleeve top (£3)

This is great for wearing under tops or shirts.

And finally, some gloves (£2)

I've been looking for this design for a while now, something which frees your fingers. You might think it's a bit pointless seeing as gloves are meant to keep your hands warm, but, these can very handy for when you have to reach for something in your bag or when you have to use your phone!

Along the way I got some toffee apples.... one of my favourite treats =)

' Let it Snow....Let it Snow.... ,

Snow fell expectedly this week, creating a white blanket all over the country. What I like about snow is, it almost makes everything look equal. It makes me think of how, for this one instance, almost everything is dressed in the same white canvas, as if reminding us, we're all in the same home under one roof. It creates a sense of togetherness and wonder.
Did you know : Snow is made up of many many fragile tiny symmetrical snowflakes. Almost each one of them is perfectly symmetrical - which makes it even more beautiful knowing this...

Read more about the chemistry of snowflake here - you'll learn a few intriguing things =P.

Surrey was greeted with heavy snow on Tuesday this week.
The day after it was reported 4-7 inches of snow fell in that region! Unfortunately, I couldn't make my way there to capture more pictures.

I can't stop feeling anything but mesmerised watching trees gracefully carrying snow on their branches.

This came out blurry but I had to put this here because it's one of my favourite pictures taken.

Festive trees!

The best picture I was able to capture.

London welcomed heavy snowfall the next day....!

A children's playground.

A festive hut by the riverside.

One of the Xmas huts by the riverside selling knits. Looking cosy..... I can imagine working there sipping a hot chocolate...

Choosing some Ear muffs =P - I got 2 ear muffs from here.

Ear muffs are a must have accessory this winter! Very cold ears can hurt... so unless you have a hoody, a thick scarf or a snood, invest in some fluffy ear muffs for this winter and future ones to come by.
3 of my ear muffs are featured below.

More festive huts aligned alongside the river Thames.

These apples were delicious but costly... so as a one-off treat =P I say... go for it!

Picnic in the snow? ^.^

Or maybe some coffee overlooking the riverside?

Glimpse of a park covered in snow.

Covent Garden was greeted with snow...

And that's all about it! Hope you enjoyed browsing through those pictures!

Foods and Scents

Last weekend, I went to a Lebanese restaurant in Edgware Road - Soraya.
Here's what I ordered.

Chicken Showerma
- Delicious. The bread was crispy. The sauces were well balanced. Just enough salad. However the chicken spoilt it! I spotted a few 'red' looking meat in the showerma. For those of you who don't mind this, this will be a treat! If you're like me and fussy with your meat being well done...you won't enjoy it as much as you'll have to keep picking at your showerma...

Khubus Bread - warm, soft & satisfying. One of my favourite breads.

Tabouleh - my favourite salad!

Batata Harra (Hot/Spicy Potatoes) - This had a good level of spice in it. Yummy... a must order.

On another subject, I got a sample of this perfume - Nina by Nina Ricci.
So she named it after her cleverly enough... I say that because this perfume is incredible. I love the way it smells of apple and candy rather than just apples. I would consider this as a great casual or formal perfume. I imagine it can do some of us some cheering up whenever we need it... It'll surprise you.

This is a perfume I have based on the scent of pure red apples - Red Delicious by DKNY.

I use this now and again. However, I don't think it has that uplifting scent to it... like Nina has. Nina has more of a catch - a good catch! And it is more captivating. However, if you like simpler scents... DKNY will be a good choice.

So Nina wins for me.
